Choose how to tension your canvas

You can attach your garden canvas to a bamboo frame in two ways. Use elastics to tension the canvas, or lace it into the frame with manila rope. The rope complements the natural look of bamboo.

Both methods secure the canvas to the frame. Simply choose the fixing method you prefer.

Prepared corner joints and clear instructions

The bamboo poles have notches at the corner joints. Secure the corners with manila rope lashings. Your order includes a clear video guide showing you how to assemble and hang the bamboo frame.

The frame hangs from a hanging system we developed. You can also dismantle it, for example to store it indoors over winter.

Canvas and outer dimensions: allow enough space

The size you order online is the canvas size. The bamboo frame adds 25 cm on each side. Add 50 cm to both the width and height of the canvas to calculate the overall size.

For example, a 150 × 100 cm canvas has an overall frame size of 200 × 150 cm. Allow for this when measuring the space in your garden.

The maximum canvas size is 300 cm wide × 300 cm high. Including the bamboo frame, the maximum overall size is 350 × 350 cm.

Caring for bamboo and preserving its color

A suitable treatment can help your bamboo last longer and retain its color.

Try a natural moisture-regulating oil, clear varnish or natural stain suitable for outdoor bamboo. You can also use a colored finish.

Bamboo is a natural material. Small lengthwise cracks may appear over time and can later shrink again. Treating the bamboo can help limit this.
